Temporary tattoos were long seen as something for kids, or a stepping stone to the real thing. Inkbox wanted to flip that perception and turn it into a must-have fashion accessory.

Targeting Gen Z, we didn’t make ads. We made culture. Instead, we launched a music video for a new artist that captured how self-expression through ink can boost confidence and unlock main-character energy. Led by a music video featuring Remi Wolf’s hit Quiet On Set, the campaign told a story of transformation through self-expression. It expanded into a choreographed dance challenge with 10.3 billion TikTok views and large-scale, shoppable flash-sheet murals featuring tattoos inspired by the music video’s characters.

Campaign results

The Big Ink Energy music video earned over 1.2M views on YouTube. The TikTok hashtag challenge had a total of 10.3B views - with 2.6M video creations and 65.7M shares. And the brand went from just selling temporary tattoos to finding a permanent place in youth culture.
